Want to Leave a Legacy?

Do you have a loved one, whether human or nonhuman, that you miss?
And you would like to honor them in a meaningful way?

We lost our first two Flying Team members, Kieran and Finley. Both were loved beyond measure and still missed every day.
As time goes on, life goes on and although we must carry on without them, we don’t want them to be forgotten with the passing of time; therefore, we created their Legacy Pages. This is to honor their contribution to raptor conservation and the legacy they left behind.

Please visit Finley’s Legacy here and continue scrolling down the page to learn about Kieran.

This memorial page is a way to memorialize your loved one and for their legacy to live on through the lives they save through the funds to expand our rehab program and bring avian medicine to Northern Arizona. Both of these very important services are completely absent and desperately needed.

With no wildlife rehabbers proficient in raptor rehabilitation, injured, sick or orphaned raptors are often euthanized, land themselves with those that lack the skills, endure a long transport journey of 3+ hours to the Phoenix area that can take days to coordinate or the most likely scenario is to suffer through an agonizing slow, painful death when no help arrives.

With the Flying Team’s veterinarian, a 6-hour round-trip drive away, decisions are made with that in mind. Had Kieran or Finley had the option of Dr. Scagnelli a short drive away, different decisions might have been made. A 3-hour drive is stressful for even a bird that has lived in captivity and it is certainly draining to an already depleted body fighting for life. These decisions are incredibly difficult to make because you just never know if the decision you make will be/was the right one. There is a very big difference between a veterinarian that will “see birds” and a certified avian veterinarian.

The funds from the donations made in honor of your loved one will go towards changing these heartbreaking stories to happier endings. We must expand our rehab program, and that would include better veterinary treatment with less stress for all birds.

Donations above $500 can include 2 photos and the entire in memoriam that you compose. You can write anything you want to about the person/animal and it will go up in its completely original form. (Obviously nothing illegal, or inappropriate)
This will stay on the website memorial page for as long as the website exists and will be included on the memorial wall in any structure built using these funds.

Donations $100 - $499 can include 1 photo and brief memoriam (500 words) that you prepare. Same as above, you can write anything you want to about the person/animal and it will go up in its completely original form. (Obviously nothing illegal, or inappropriate).
This will stay on the website memorial page for as long as the website exists and will be included on the memorial wall in any structure built using these funds.
